The Role

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll be part of our Platform Team—the hub of the data that powers All Ears. You’ll work closely with our CPTO and the Customer Success team, along with your teammates, to plan and execute projects that broaden our media monitoring capabilities. At the same time, you'll ensure our systems remain stable and follow best practices in architecture, always with a strong focus on delivering customer value.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Backend Engineer at All Ears, you will:

• Develop and maintain our backend systems and microservices in Python using Django.

• Design and manage distributed systems for large-scale data processing.

• Work on scaling services, including DevOps tasks like database management and optimization (e.g., in Postgres).

• Implement and maintain search functionality using Elasticsearch or similar technologies.

• Develop and enhance our data collection and scraping solutions.

• Optimize performance through effective cache management.

• Use and configure Docker for containerization and service distribution.

• Work with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP to scale and operate our applications.

• Contribute to high code quality through code reviews, testing, and clear documentation according to best practices.

Who You Are

You’re an experienced backend developer who:

• Has at least 5 years of backend development experience, preferably in product-driven or fast-growing tech environments.

• Is proficient in Python and Django (or similar frameworks/languages).

• Has hands-on experience with data scraping and understands both the technical and ethical considerations.

• Has experience handling large data sets and solving scaling and database management challenges.

• Takes ownership of system architecture and cares about long-term code quality.

• Works in a structured way but is also pragmatic when needed—you like getting things done.

• Communicates clearly and enjoys collaborating in teams where tech and business intersect.
